Ebook Creation Basics

by Sean Milea

In the past several years, writing was never as lucrative as it is now when anyone who has the time and just a little ability can crank out an electronic book and market it online in a flash. But to make money, talent alone is not enough, so try these helpful, tested methods to make real money with your e-books.

Make sure your eBook is creative and unique. The best way to stand out is to create something that is innovative and not found anywhere else. If you choose a common topic, try to write it in a fresh, new perspective so it stands out from the rest of the crowd.

It is generally a good idea to collect your eBooks into a compilation, which will impress potential customers with the impression that they are getting a suerpior product for their money. To add to the compilation, you can assemble all of your older eBooks into one package, or you can find free eBooks to add to yours and sell the resulting combination.

You can increase e-book profits by selling advertising companies and people who are willing to book space in your book. Thus you make money from advertising revenues as well as from book sales. You may decide that it is worth investing in using third party promotion to advertise your eBook. While you will pay a fee, such high traffic sites will expose many people to your product and the investment can really pay off.

Giving out promotions and discounts can help you entice more clients. Understanding your clients needs will enable you to offer them interesting items along with your ebook. Since no other person knows more about your eBook than you do, be sure to write about it. Write pieces about your eBook and then take every opportunity to give them to article directories. Be sure to add a link that points to your sales page.

Give some portions of your eBook for free. Most people prefer testing a product or service first before making a purchase in order to see if the merchandise is worth their money. Give away a few chapters for your target market to see and urge them to download or buy the entire book.
