by Alex Perez-Prat

People have many different thoughts about what it is that they wish to express. For the most part, they can't show these thoughts because of multiple reasons. Mainly people prefer to keep their thoughts inside themselves and never speak them out.

Another form of self-expression is the written word. For many people, it is easier for them to express their thoughts or emotions in writing, instead of verbally. It is an especially popular outlet for expression among shy or otherwise highly self-conscious people.

The obvious reason to make your writing available on the web is so others can discover them and continue the discussion. Newspapers and magazines have "letters to the editor" for similar reasons, but the goal is to provide insight and information.
